Behind the Wheel Instruction

Aka BTW or DRIVE times (minimum of 8 hours required with instructor)

separate scheduling from class instruction

Requirements before any BTW drives are scheduled..

STUDENT HAS ATTENDED AT LEAST THE FIRST CLASS SESSION.

THE COURSE FEE - PAID IN FULL

AND STUDENT HAS VALID PERMIT.

Behind the Wheel (driving) instruction may be available

at various times of the day / each day of the week.

IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS OR LIMITATIONS ON YOUR DRIVING SCHEDULE - PLEASE LET US KNOW.

BIGGEST QUESTION IS HOW ARE DRIVES SCHEDULED?

WE SCHEDULE STUDENTS DRIVES FROM A STUDENT LIST.

STUDENTS ARE PLACED IN GROUPS BASED ON COURSE START DATE.

WE CALL YOU WHEN STUDENTS NAME IS AT OR NEAR THE TOP OF THE LIST.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL SCHOOL OFFICE AND CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE DRIVE CALL LIST. THERE ARE MANY FACTORS DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT WILL TAKE TO COMPLETE EACH STUDENT. BEST WE CAN GIVE YOU IS AN APPROXIMATE TIME LINE BASED ON OUR CURRENT STATUS. (July 2008 – estimate one month or less to start drives)

INFORMATION about the actual BTW drives:

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before BTW (drive) instruction sessions

When arriving for the BTW drive time - be ready to drive (physically and mentally),

The student’s must have complete permit in their possession (validated paper and plastic ID).

Dress comfortably and appropriately (no flip flops, hair out of face, and corrective lenses if required).

IF unable to attend please call as soon as possible (we prefer at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule). We are paying for an instructor to be there for your scheduled drive time. A no call or no show to a schedule drive will result is a cancellation fee charged per session. (DRIVE CANCELLATION FEE is $25.00)

NO PERMIT in your POSSESSION may result in a cancellation fee

not being dress appropriately may also result in a cancellation fee

This cancellation fee is in addition to the course fee.

The certificate of completion will not be issued until all fees are paid in full.

WE WISH TO TALK TO THE PARENT/or GUARDIAN ABOUT THE STUDENTS PROGRESS.

PLEASE ALLOW TIME IN YOUR SCHEDULE WHEN PICKING THE STUDENT UP AT OUR NEWARK LOCATION TO ACCOMPLISH THIS TASK. AFTER AT LEAST ONE OF THE DRIVES WE ONLY ASK FOR A COUPLE MINUTES OF YOUR TIME.

FYI: Land of Legend Driving School will offer classroom and drives to achieve completion within 6 months from the date of first class session as stated in the course contract... most students are completed within 1 to 3 months… each student and situation is different… We thank you for your understanding as we try to treat everyone fairly and be completed within a reasonable amount of time. If you ever have any special requests, such as a particular instructor that you may know, or restrictions on your schedule due to work and other responsibilities please let us know so we make a note of this in the student’s file. THANK YOU.

Each Student’s Name and information is placed on our master student list after they have attended at least one class session. The names on master list are in order of the course start date.

To be on the active call list, student’s course fee must be paid in full.

(please note students make take the classroom instruction at age 15 years and 5 months before they get an Ohio permit – drives will not be scheduled until student has a validated permit)
